The Martha Stewart Show!
Faraway Farm was featured on The Martha Stewart Show in October 2010.

Martha Stewart’s crew spent two days filming a wide variety of scenes including feeding and care, shearing, and the creation of an alpaca garment from fleece to finished product. Faraway Farm’s owners, Leda Blumberg and Steve Cole were interviewed about alpaca history, breeding, fiber characteristics and what it is like to raise alpacas. Faith Perkins, of Quarry Ridge Alpacas, demonstrated carding, spinning and knitting. Leda also appeared with Martha before a live studio audience, presenting Faraway Farm's yarns, alpaca garments, throws and handmade toys. View segment now.

'09 Spring Shows
We are thrilled that our beautiful yearling, Quarry Ridge Marimba, won blue ribbons at the 2009 North American Alpaca Show and the Northeast Alpaca Expo. The North American is one the most competitive shows in the US with over 1,200 alpacas from around the country. The Northeast Alpaca Expo is a new show and it was well attended by 650 alpacas.
Judges commented
on the fineness and uniformity of Marimba’s fleece,
its incredibly soft handle, and her excellent fiber
coverage. They also liked her picture perfect conformation
and beautiful, delicate head. (In
halter classes, alpacas are judged on their fleece
qualities and their conformation. Winning fleece needs
to be fine, uniform, dense and crimpy.)
Marimba has finished her show career and will now be bred to Canzelle’s Zambezi, a stunning black herdsire who has won top honors at every show he entered.
